Holiday Potluck!

We hope to see you there tomorrow!

The Southern Nevada Herpetological Society is proud to present:

Ian Recchio "The Reptiles of Mexico"
Mexico is the most diverse country in the world regarding reptile species. You don’t want to miss this presentation. Ian Recchio is the curator of reptiles at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens and has traveled extensively through Mexico and surrounding areas documenting a country with the most diverse herpetofauna in the world, where there are still undiscovered species. Join us for this fascinating presentation and see reptiles and amphibians you have probably never dreamed existed.

When:  December 7, 2013 beginning at 7:00 pm
Where:  UNCE Lifelong Learning Center, 8050 Paradise Rd., Las Vegas, NV  89123

Join us for the Annual Holiday Raffle and Potluck!
In addition to the presentation, we will be holding our Annual Holiday Raffle and Potluck!  There will be brand new & used products, live reptiles, books, t-shirts, gift certificates and other herpetological related items.  The funds raised at this raffle support most of the SNHS activities/speakers for the year.  If you wish to participate in the potluck, please bring a covered dish to share.

There is no charge to attend this event!

For additional information, contact M.L. Robinson at 257-5529.

Welcome to Our Blog Spot!

Next Meeting: Saturday, November 17th at 10:00 A.M.
We are in need of some volunteers to bring snacks to the next meeting and a volunteer to bring drinks. I believe I counted 22 students at the last meeting. Any volunteers? I'd like to make a rotating list so everyone gets a chance of participating. We're trying to stick with healthy snacks and juices/water for everyone. Please let me know if you will volunteer for the next meeting.

We need to set a dues that students will pay to cover crafts/snacks that occur during our meetings. Thank you Christy for bringing all of those snacks! I'm proposing $5.00 per 4H member. Does that sound fair? We want to keep it affordable for everyone. I think that would give us a good working budget, and if there's a craft that we will be doing that requires special materials, we could always put it on our blog and ask parents to pick-up what will be needed for the craft. How does this sound to everyone?

Please prepare your children to discuss what project(s) they would like to work on over the next year at our next meeting.
